How to make Tonjiru with Fried tofu

Let us introduce you to a traditional Japanese home-cooked dish called “Tonjiru” (pork miso soup). Tonjiru is a nutritious and heartwarming soup made by simmering pork and plenty of vegetables in miso. This recipe includes fried tofu (abura-age) to enhance its flavor.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- Fried tofu (Abura-age): 2 pieces
- Pork belly: 100g
- Carrot: 1 piece
- Daikon radish: 1/4 piece
- Green onion: 1/2 stalk
- Miso: to taste
- Water: appropriate amount
Instructions
- Cut the fried tofu, carrot, daikon radish, and green onion into desired widths.
- In a pot, stir-fry the pork belly, carrot, daikon radish, and green onion.
- Once the ingredients are partially cooked, add the fried tofu and an appropriate amount of water.
- Dissolve the miso in the water. Adjust the amount of miso and water to your taste.
- It’s ready to serve.
