Let us introduce you to a traditional Japanese home-cooked dish called “Tonjiru” (pork miso soup). Tonjiru is a nutritious and heartwarming soup made by simmering pork and plenty of vegetables in miso. This recipe includes fried tofu (abura-age) to enhance its flavor.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • Fried tofu (Abura-age): 2 pieces
  • Pork belly: 100g
  • Carrot: 1 piece
  • Daikon radish: 1/4 piece
  • Green onion: 1/2 stalk
  • Miso: to taste
  • Water: appropriate amount

Instructions

  1. Cut the fried tofu, carrot, daikon radish, and green onion into desired widths.
  2. In a pot, stir-fry the pork belly, carrot, daikon radish, and green onion.
  3. Once the ingredients are partially cooked, add the fried tofu and an appropriate amount of water.
